@pindaric
Not familiar with Back to Balboa but have Contemporary Concepts which has his superb rendering of Yesterdays. I also have The Brothers with Bill , Richie Kamuca and Al Cohn I also have an album with Bill, Bud Shank and Shorty Rogers.
I was fortunate enough (and old enough) to have seen Bill play live with Kenton on his 1956 tour of Europe!

@clondraboy Oh yes, definitely! Perkins never got the recognition he deserved. Getz supposedly said once that Perkins was the best white tenor player of the 1950s. Have you listened to Perkins' solos on Kenton's "Back to Balboa" album?

@pindaric Yes, but don't you miss Bill Perkins?

I can't help but think about sexy women, cigarettes from their lips, the late office party downtown, salesmen tired just off the road enjoying a classic Olive Martini with their feet up, the wife bringing the paper. Oh, and the all-tube Hi-Fi cranked with this song!
