I don't personally see how the whole God thing works but it seems to work for Morse and he seems to make great music inspired by it.Think one of the best things about Transatlantic is how it bridge distance and belief.Stolt and Morse being big christians, Portnoy being jewish, Pete being english ^_~ and for the live shows Gildenlöw being a damn good arguement.Every tune they made kicks ass, be it from God,Thor,Zeus or whatever. Doesnt bother the people on the stage why should it bother us fans?

I'm a Christian. Religion doesn't do shit to music, its what the musicians write.

Is there really a religious argument going on here? I don't care if you're Jewish, Muslim, Atheist, or you worship the flying spaghetti monster, I listen to this music because it's awesome and inspires me to write similar music. Why can't we just coexist? Why do people always have to fight? Of all things, religion is just silly to argue about. We need to respect each other!

The statement that "there is no God" seems a little ignorant.
You could say, you think that there is none, but you couldn't proove that there is no higher existence. I neither believe in some kind of physical God nor in Jesus, but to completly deny the existence of something higher - call it fate, coincidance or whatever - seems a bit narrow minded.
And regarding to LMTR14s comment: Insulting someone in such a manner because of what they believe in really sucks!

@ageshero shut your fucking face you christian scum!
-
@ageshero there is no god, and if the god of the bible does really exist then he/she/it is an evil bugger
-
@BloodPump And it depends which influences they have..

Never knew that.

I agree with you.
I rather have those wounderful bands you mentioned being inspired by the Prog kings instead of those weird crossovers between Death Metal and Progressive, which, IMO, are soo overrated.
Those bands that you mentioned, still have the Progressive Flag raised, and we should thank them for that :)

One of the best piece I've heard in late 2009...About time I found out about this band...I will see them live in 2010.
some of the most pointless picture transitions i have ever seen in all my life, but unbelievable song.
and...... just to point out, trying out christianity is certianly a good first step, but if you use it like some common sunday visiting church pass it by kinda way. it will disapoint you because you arent getting the full presence of god in little spritts of church or things.
you have to look deep into what god is about, about jesus, and about the holy spirit. its unbelievable.

The transitions are nasty, I know, or pointless if you prefer to say, but this video was one of my 1st using Pinacle... so I play a little bit with the custom 3d transitions availables on that soft.
My apologizes
