Remember Devils fans u not won the cup if not for bein from Kansas city scouts n col. rockies too....so and for atlanta we lost 2 teams one in calgary n winnipeg..now they have chance to win since Atlant sprit group ain't killin n waddell is 5year plan....winnipeg will make it to conf final vs boston for stanley cup too....and winner play either Chicago are vancouver in stanley cup final in 2012

I'm a Rangers fan, but Simpson did the right thing here - Karpovsev was trying to play tough guy with Dave Ellett and Reid called him on it. That's the way hockey should be played. Churla should have kicked the shit out of some non-fighting Devil though.

Gretzky like others that hated the fighting have to understand that there is fighting in this game for a reason. It keeps the sticks down, in this era of clutch and grab hockey, especially when it's against a big rival, you are going to have fights. Hockey is a brutal, territorial game, this is not Tennis or Baseball, there are no out of bounds. They say when you put a stick in a mans hand he falls back a few on the evolution chart, that might be right, but this IS hockey.

The Rangers may have won the battle back in 1997 in the playoffs, and again in the 2008 playoffs, but they always lost the war thereafter, so actually, they're not all that good. And to Gretzky, fighting has always been in hockey, and it always will be, so get over it aready Great One !

Gretzky got a lot of room out there thanks to the FIGHTERS and TEAMATES who hunted down anyone who looked at him wrong...I'm sure he knows that but as the quote un-quote,ambassador of the game, was publicly against fighting...my opinion anyway...
