How many bands did Nick play in? He would talk to anyone. Loved to dance with the pretty girls. Didnt know him when he was younger. But he was always willing to help the up and coming blues musicians in the last 10 years of his life. My son was one of those.

He was a very gentle man and modest too. I remember him doing a great rendition of 'as the years go passing by'. saw him so many times in chicago. one of the steadiest bass players i have ever seen. thank you Nick.

Thank you Gus. For the sake of accuracy, I have learned that Nick was suffering from a brain tumor, which no doubt precipitated the strokes.

Nick Holt passed away today, June 22, 2009 after suffering two major strokes over the past few weeks. Nick was a rock solid bass player and soulful singer. He laid down the foundation so that his brother, Magic Slim could soar. Rest in peace, Nick. Thank you for posting this video. It has special significance now.
