Roza Eskenazi (1975)

Roza Eskenazi, a true legend of rebetiko, in a 1975's TV appearance. (She must have been 85 years old at the time.) She talks about the beginning of her career in Thessaloniki and the glory she enjoyed afterwards. Haris Alexiou appears for a couple of seconds near the end of the video, when Eskenazi sings ""Hariklaki".

Τόσα ξέρουν, τόσα λένε. Οι αληθινοί Μουσικοί (με Μ κεφαλαίο) όπως ήταν ο Μάνος Χατζιδάκις μπόρεσαν να εκτιμήσουν το Ρεμπέτικο, τη στιγμή που οι θολοκουλτουριάρηδες σήμερα ντρέπονται για την λαϊκή ελληνική μουσική.

Τα ωραία πράγματα στην ζωή δεν διδάσκονται, ούτε πλασάρονται. Ανακαλύπτονται.
