@brotherbelcher1 The film was never shot in widescreen. If you look at the frame of a standard 35mm motion picture film then 4:3 is the correct format. I've seen this posted on amazon about the lack of widescreen on the DVD release but that is how the film was intended to be shown in theatres.
Great little trailer-thanks for posting. The dvd is disappointing with no extras, video quality picture,NOT WIDESCREEN,poor sound.Real shame for such a quality film.
Finally i found it, the last time i watched this movie i was about 13, loved it but couldnt remember the name, i love these 1960's british films, beat the American stuff anyday for me, and i have ordered it off Amazon, its about 8.99 pounds sterling, that is if anybody wants it.
I look forward to getting Robbery on DVD. I have seen it on TV before and the chase scene is like the best of the Sweeney and some. I would go onto say the best cop and robbers chase of any film ever.
I took a look today on HMV site and it said it won't be out until 1st may now!! I don't know where I am with them! I bet when I go in they'll tell me they've had problems with the supplier or something like that!!!
Thanks for that 'classicman' ; ive looked on HMV site in the past for this to no avail- great news its out now ! We need many more R2 dvd releases of great u.k. movies- 'the criminal' with stanley in being one AND 'the wrong box' comedy etc. etc. etc. !
