A near capacity crowd saw top ten San Diego ranked Vista, with their new (updated) turf field, host Punahou (Honolulu, HI) who is the # 3 ranked team in Hawaii by one newspaper poll. This was Punahou's fourth game of the year with a 2-1 record coming into the game.

0:26 Punahou tackle by DeForest Buckner (one of the nation's top lineman)
0:54 Punahou 50-yard pass
1:09 Vista 70-yard TD run by Andrew Williams
3:10 Punahou 20-yard TD pass, reception by RB Steven Lakalaka (UCLA)
3:46 Punahou 24-yard TD pass

Punahou's RB Steven Lakalaka (0:35) is committed to UCLA and they have four linemen that are being heavily recruited by Pac-12 schools. 6' 7" 230 lb DeForest Buckner (0:26) and 6' 8" 265 lb Luke Kaumatule are both top 50 defensive lineman in the country while 6' 2" 261 lb Kamden Hilliard and 6' 1" 290 lb Leni Sekona are both getting serious looks from Pac-12 schools.

Punahou alumnus President Obama '79 was invited to flip the coin since some Vista staff went to high school with the President but the invitation was declined.

Sports Illustrated has ranked Punahou the # 1 athletic program in the nation in 2008 and 2009 while being ranked # 2 in 2010. Punahou formed the first football team in Hawaii with a group of students and faculty back in 1890. Since then, Punahou has won more than 400 state titles and 850 league titles in all sports. Punahou is also the largest K-12 school in the nation.

The Harry Kalas like P.A. announcer for Vista is quite possibly the best in San Diego.

Punahou won 19-7
