I remember this from my childhood vacations in Co Wickla when I was about 5 or 6, it sounded different then, but my dad would play it on the Irish pipes for me down the Sea Road at Kilcoole.
brilliant song but by no means the best version. Tho I'm sure I've heard only a very small amount of the versions out there, there's nothing to knock the spots off Paul Bradys version. Sorry. beautifull song an' all but.....

I listened to Paul Brady's version but much prefer this one. The best I've heard yet.
