Read the lyrics below. Get into the heads of teens with ADHD, Depression, Anxiety and Bipolar Disorder. Learn how much they're really like the rest of us. The song was written by a high school senior, peformed by the senior and a high school sophomore. Both have sisters with mood disorders. All the models are students in Tarrant County, Texas. The videographer and sound producer are both in their 20s and have friends with mental health disorders. Their goal is to reach people without these illnesses in hopes of opening doors to more friendships for those who truly need them. Dear Friend of Mine Lyrics Trying to find words to tell you why I act the way I do. No limitations, but I feel restricted. All these thoughts in my head collide, keeping you confused. Wish you could understand. Too many ideas, too many things I wanna say, but I can't. When I lose hope, I feel so alone. I need a friend to help me carry on. So open your heart and you'll see that we are just the same In this lonely place. I'm tangled in this mess. Please help me straighten my path. Dear friend of mine, please excuse my unexplained mistakes. You might think that I'm afraid of everything, And some days you'd be right. Everyone gets scared sometimes. I just need you to hold my hand and tell me it's all right. It's so hard to see the damage on others that you've created yourself. I don't mean to hurt those who care for me But it's like my impulse drives me. I'm tangled in this mess. Please help me straighten my path. Dear friend of mine, please excuse my unexplained mistakes.

  • such an important to get out... I was diagnosed with ADHD as a young man and today as an adult my diagnosis is Schizoaffective Disorder and Social Anxiety Disorder. thanks for being a support to the youth - it is needed!

  • This is a really important message. It's more common than we realize, and they are conditions almost anyone could have. It's a condition, not a definition.
