After World War II, the victorious powers (US, UK, Soviet Union)copied the German design for the Type XXI, which is considered the first real submarine.

The Type XXI arrived too late for combat, but was used to rescue many German civilians from the Soviet Red Army and the constant Allied bomber attacks on German cities.

This happened in violation of Hitler's orders which stated that no civilians were to be be allowed aboard u-boats for any reason, even for rescue.

@happaala We lost in France because at that time Hitler was very clever and not taking speed. He surprisingly outwitted his generals by strategy and was on a role. Poland... well that was just a mess. I would have sent a massive proportion of Royal Air Force and Royal Navy to just bomb the cites and coastlines of Germany and not let Hitler strike. At France, the low countries, Denmark and Norway while France and British army could try to invade Germany.

@happaala Getting USA into the was very important, USA was saying that they did not want anything to do with any foreign affairs that includes selling arms, getting involved into wars etc, on a world wide scale. Us English could easily see that we could not dominate the world forever, and when we lost the American war of Independence Britain gave birth to an new superpower and getting USA into WW2 was a slap on the wrist to wake up, stop messing around and start dominating.

@happaala One thing you must realize in WW2, Adolf Hitler was a master mined con man, he took the whole world be surprise and used it as an advantage. Maybe if Churchill was in power, lets say from the mid 1930s he would have threatened Germany to stand down because Winston Churchill was the best no one beat him. There is only two things wrong the British Empire did in it's entire History 1st the American war of independence, 2nd the lead up to WW2, both caused the British Empire to decline.

@NearAbbeyRoad If Britain was such a superior power, why didnt they attack germany to fullfill their contract with poland? why had they been beaten in france? and why did they beg the usa for help? cause they struggled. no way had they won the bob or war alone. germany just lost bob due to hitler who interfered. they were an outclassed once superpower with helmets like soup plates.
