@AlanAlan2001, aburashdan is absolutely right. You can not compare democracy with a religion. But there is no such thing as a "christian democracy". Although it is possible for a democratic country to have a state religion like lutheranism is the danish state religion.
If a country's political decisions are solely based on religion it would be a theocracy like Iran where descisions follow the Sharia.
I think that's what alanalan2001 means by saying islam in that context:)
