Santana's 'Europa (Earth's Cry, Heaven's Smile)' Cover - Adam Lee

Hi guys,

Just thought I'd do another Santana cover, seeing as he is my favorite guitarist in the world. :-) I've had lots of encouragement and requests from my many wonderful friends on MySpace (particularly you, Mark :-) ), to put up a cover of 'Europa'. This is easily one of my favorite instrumental pieces of all time. Santana is so expressive with the guitar, it almost gives his music another dimension, which is scarcely seen elsewhere.

Anyway . . . I'll just say it's been years since I last played this, and I thought I'd do some of my own improvising in places, to make it sound a tad different. I cannot even come close to meeting Carlos' genius on this piece, but here's my attempt, nonetheless. :-)

Hey Adam! I just picked up one those Fulltone Fulldrive IIs I was wondering what settings are you using on them? and I also read in other comments that you ran your Blues Deluxe into a 4x12 cab?? Damn how much does that affect the sound? I've never experimented with speaker sizes, numbers or cabs. My Mesa Lonestar Special and the Keeley Comp seem to get a pretty nice tone for this song though. But I'm looking to sell my Mesa and getting a Deluxe Reverb.

I have loads of these to go through across all the different videos, but am determined to reply to everyone! :-) Congratulations on getting the Full Drive! Superb pedal! I change the settings according to the guitar and amp I use, so it won't always sound the same on other setups. And I reckon if you use a Blues Deluxe with that pedal, you'll pretty much nail this tone, as that's what I used for this. And please don't sell your Mesa! :-P
