The tomb of Maestro Solti is next to Bartók's one in Budapest at the Farkasréti cemetery.
It was Solti's wish to be buried next to Bartók.
The hungarian genius was the teacher of the great conductor.

A most pleasing performance by maestro Georg Solti, indeed. Upon my first hearing of these dances, several of these pieces reminded me of several of Edvard Grieg's pieces, such as "Anitra's Dance" from "Peer Gynt Suite no 1," and his "Norwegian Folk Songs and Dances." And I liked how through movements VI and VII he stirred up energy into the chamber orchestra. A highly spirited performance!

I love these so much! My Uni orchestra did the Romanian Dances last year and it's so moving to play. Thank you so much for posting this professional version! My favourite is movement 4! :O But then again it depends what mood I'm in when I'm listening to them ;) Each movement has it's own character! :o
