This video was created to compare the power on times between a modern netbook and an iPad. The netbook was brought out of hibernate as this is the best approximation of the state that the ipad comes out of that I could come up with.
The Dell is not cold booting as you are doing with the iPad. It is resuming from hibernation.
For a real comparison, let's see how long it takes to wake from sleep, launch email client, read a few emails, with attachments, and delete them. That would give people a much better idea of real life working performance. iPad will be a clear winner (I own and use both of these devices daily)
@javamdk It is a fair comparison because a lot of people want to use the device for the same purposes. You are correct that there are plenty of technical differences in the device. The purpose is to show that windows 7 can keep up with an custom OS like iOS.
If you watch the entire video i do bring each machine out of sleep and launch a web browser. I would agree that is the closest comparison.
