Max is superb as a treble and now as a counter-tenor ! He, IMHO, is ranked as one of the best of the best :-)

@cabbalistic Peter Jelosits - in the meantime - is Tenor at the Vienna Opera - House (see the video with
"Anna Bolena" at the channel of MrChannel14 for example).

for Max singing Mahler :)

Obviously, Max was known for his especially high degree of vocal command, most likely a combination of his natural gifts, his training at WSK, and his very early training by his mother. His talent, then and now, deserves special attention. I must mention, also, that his contemporary Steven Möckel had a much warmer, richer voice; however, I have found only one recording of him singing Mozart. What a disappointment not to find additional recordings!

His treble voice was very unique.
What puzzles me a little is how different he sounds singing Mahler's 'das himmlische leben'' - a lot more like a boy soprano than he does in any of his other treble recordings. In fact, I personally wouldn't have recognized it as being Cencic's treble voice. It's just 'that' different (to me anyway!) in tonal quality from the rest of the samples we have from his boy soprano days.
What do you think?
