Eclectica's Hugh Hendry discusses the investment outlook on June 18 at the GAIM 2009 hedge fund conference in Monaco. Read more about hedge funds on my blog at http://blogs.reuters.com/hedgehub/.
not sure..the necessities of life have been becoming more expensive, the luxuries cheaper..inflation vs deflation seems domain dependent. I can see the real underpinnings of a commodity based international currency taking root. Dollars[US,Aust,NZ, Canadian] and Pounds would then get more competition...means waning demand for those gvt bonds at the same time supply keeps increasing...its a gutsy arguement to say rates in those western countries won't keep going up. But gutsy pays.
Hugh, thanks for the face time. Bonds look to be dead... more printing, less purchasing power. Bonds got killed '31-'33 with the 2nd and 3rd banking crises. We'll have more banking crises soon. US has been lying about demand for gov't debt. Same with UK. Asian FXs starting to strengthen again... you buying RMB bonds or those of BK Western gov'ts? Thanks again Hugh,,, post some things in public if possible. ur fan in cambodia
Thanks Mr. Hendry for finding a Camera, even if it's not CNBC's where I'd love to see you! Hope you're enjoying yourself in that wonderful scenery. Best wishes. :)

The future looks highly deflationary with rising interest rates.
The US long bond got absolutely slaughtered between 1931 and 1933.
