Before my time but I've lots of racing videos so I have seen his races. I wouldn't say he's a great horse but on his day he was very very good and genuine horse.

Thanks for posting. Kalaglow was dominant that summer. Especially remember his great win over Assert at Ascot. A shame that these days Greville Starkey is remembered more for losing the Derby on Dancing Brave than all the big races he won.

Thanks. One of my all time favourite horses, with that great daisy cutting action he had. Have to agree about Greville Starkey. Kalaglow only one The King George because of Starkey.

@DragonsQuill Thanks for reply glad you too liked Kalaglow I followed him from his 2yo days in 1980 when unbeaten in 5 including a hard faught success on his final start in the Horris Hill Stakes at Newbury. Although he failed at 3 mainly due to soft ground which he hated in the Dante and being badly struck into in Shergars Derby he was a true champion at 4. Starkey rode him superbly all through his carear and expecially that season.
