He shouldn't be lifting his shoulders at the end though? Just curious...for ppl with impingments lifting through the levator and upper trap is a bad thing...
-
this firm the sides of the chest?

Do You think these would be useful after a floating rib dislocation to prevent reccurance of it by stabilization? Or excercises for the side of the torso should be done?
-
is it true that if you do a lot of these excercises, that your visible ribs will be less visible after training these?

Hi MrMawnster - that depends where the impingement is. If it at the brachial plexes, which is around the base of the neck, then - yes- it is a bad thing as these muscles are commonly involved in this impingement. Hope this helps.

Hi sexymixed - guess you could say that, as the serratus anterior attaches to the ribs at the side of the chest. It also helps stabilise the shoulder.

Hi Pisztu - the serratus anterior does not attach to the floating ribs, it attaches as far as the 9-10th ribs, therefore it will not help stabilising the 11-12th ribs. It does however, help stabilise the shoulder.
You shoulder consider deep breathing.

Hi blooddef - the serratus anterior attaches to the ribs at the front/sides. It doesn't hide the ribs but when it's developed it looks truly beautiful because you can see it clearly in contrast to the ribs. More importantly, it really stabilises the shoulder.
Hope this answers your question.
