1992 Olympic Semi-final

The first time they faced each other according to the written record was in the finals of the 1986 World Amateur Championships in Reno, NV. They did meet again in the finals of the 1991 World Amateur Championship which took place Sydney, Australia with Savon winning again. This was the tournament he stopped Tua in the semi's and Kirk Johnson in the quarter's. Savon went on to beat Kirk Johnson again in a video I posted on this channel just do a search to find it.

Vanderlijde lost 4 times before this match against Savon,a scary fighter doesnt fight a Cuban legend for the fifth time.Some journalist never fought a boxingmatch,and do not have any idea wath a fighter feels when he enter the ring,and then you get the stupid comment like this.By the way Vanderlijde has lost just 20 fight in more then 200 amateurfights,3 times european champ,3 bronze in the olimpics,and 2 silver in worldchampionschips.
