You can only play as them on the Middle Ages scenario, which is only available on the Civilisation 3 Conquests expansion pack to Civilisation 3.

The Abbasids were traitors of Muhammed, but regardless, they should have conquered the whole of Europe and burned every Christian infidel at the stake in the name of Allah!!

I usually like playing as the Cordovans on this scenario, mainly due to their allegiance to Muhammed but also due to their opposition to the Persian traitors of Muhammed - the Abbasids.

Isn't it a bit hard to attack the Abbasids as the Cordovans, you're in Spain and they're in Palestine?

MTW2 is more acurrate then any of the maps could be It truly is a great game of tactics and strategy still Civs you can do more

Scottland can do good but your tech ends sooner than everyone else so it hard to get handgunners and advance Cavalry

Playing as a Norse civ is much funnier, imho. You can easily take almost any city that is not far enough from the sea. I once won by bringing 2 relics to Jerusalem playing as the norwegians.
