They bought only 1.7 miles of the Milwaukee Road "Southwestern" line between Lamb and Baileyville Roads so they did not need liability insurance.

@bnsf261 whom would that be?
-
@IllinoisTrains1 Oh yeah I forgot to look at your date.
Well your chance will come soon enough :)
-
@bnsf261 That was last year and unfortunatly it fell through. I was asked to go by a club member of my railroad club but we never heard about it again. I don't know what happened but October came and went I never went out there, which sucked because I was really looking forward to it.

@IllinoisTrains1 Which day you coming?
Me and a freind will be firing and running on the 24th.
(If Roger can get the VP's approval)

I got to run a heisler at Roaring Camp in Felton. Heislers are finky, but very fun locomotives. They are very well built, and engineered.
I have been invited to fire this locomotive in October.

Looking at Google Street View, I cannot find any public road crossings of this line and it appears to no longer have a connection to the CN Iowa Div. which looks like the only other surviving rail line in Freeport.

Yeah, they don't cross any roads, they honk for the bridges.

It was pretty cool, and I got to talk to a crew member from the MILW 261.
