With Halloween round the corner, let's learn how to make a Jack O'lantern candy basket with Falguni.
YOU WILL NEED: All of these can be easily found at your local stationery shop.
• Medium sized balloon x1
• Old newspaper cut into strips
• Orange paint
• Paintbrush
• Glittery yellow foam x1
• Black paint
• Black construction paper x1
• Green crepe paper
• Ribbon-any colour, approx. 12 to 15 inches long
• A pair of scissors
• Glue
Steps:
The body:
1. Inflate a medium sized balloon
2. Mix glue and water in the ration 2:1
3. Apply it on the balloon
4. Cut old newspaper into 1" thick strips and glue them on the balloon
5. Repeat process so to get 4 layers of newspapers
6. Leave to dry overnight
7. Burst the balloon next day
8. Trim the edge to make a wide mouth
9. Paint the body with orange paint
10. Leave it to dry
The eyes, eyebrows, mouth and nose:
1. Cut out eyes, nose and mouth from yellow glittery foam
2. Cut out eyebrows from black construction paper
3. Stick everything on the body
4. Paint inside the eyes and nose with black paint
5. Cut green paper into a 1.5" thick strip, cut fringes on it and stick it all around the outer edge
6. Take a ribbon, 12 to 15" long and glue it to the inside edge of the body to make the handle
