Shows the Craft ROBO Pro aka CE5000-40 cutting plotter contour cut (die cut) a pre-printed image glossy card stock. This demo is using the included Cutting Master 2 plug-in to Adobe Illustrator CS3 on a Macintosh. The Craft ROBO Pro is a great tool for any design studio producing graphic design mock ups or small runs of packaging designs. Layout and demo by Jeff Rutzky.

I've seen those at CHA trade shows and they "appear" as though they may work ok with the CE5000-40 (CraftROBO Pro). This cutting plotter is pretty forgiving. Some claim to make their own carrier sheets.

It's called a carrier sheet. It's got a sticky surface just like a post-it note where you can stick your paper on. When you're using the machine to die-cut material you have to use a carrier film because otherwise you'll damage the machine.

Actually, there is some kind of vacuum cleaner inside. It sucks down the media to keep it perfectly flat. A lot of the larger ink jet printers are also using this method nowadays.

  • Why does this thing sound like a vacuum every time it's working?

  • what was the clear thick backing that you pulled away from the printed material?

  • what printer are you using to print . and what are you printing onto??
