In order to spend a certain length of time or to work in Japan, it is necessary to obtain a visa (status of residence) which is classified in 27 different categories.

The definition and the types of activities allowed with each visa type are described as below. this means that your future activities in Japan will have to fall into one of those categories, and if you don't find one that fits you, you will then not be able to obtain a visa for Japan.

For example, you can't get a working visa as a construction worker or a waiter/waitress.

There are also requirements to meet as to obtain a visa. So even if you find a Japanese employer, you will not be able to come to work in Japan if you don't meet these requirements.

For example, you can't work as a language teacher if you don't have a degree or 3 years working experience.

The status of residence can be devided into 3 main groups:

1. Working visa: those which allow you to work

2. Non-working visa: those which don't allow you to work

3. Family related visa: those granted according to the family status

It is first necessary to determine the type of visa that you qualify for. One person can get only one type of visa, so if you are eligible for more than one (engineer visa and spouse visa for example), you will need to choose one among them.

Now let's see the definition of each type of visa and its requirements that will allow you to determine the type of visa that you qualify for.

  • @jct200 the radiation that is in the food supply will last quite a bit longer. However the immigration system will change ina year to allow college graduates with a BA that speak some Japanese to apply for a visa without a sponsor.

  • @ChrisNolandTV well i dont want to move now, later after i completed school and have some experience. maybe in 10 years

  • @jct200 You need a college degree or experience to get a visa to work in Japan, no matter what you wish to do. The only websites that have jobs to get into Japan are for English teachers or college grads. Japan has a shrinking economy, you will also have to be fluent in Japanese. But right now is probably the worst time to consider a career move to Japan and its very expensive, why do u want to move there?

  • when im done with college i hope to find a job in japan as a chef and live there...any tips on how to make this possible? is there like a website or something i can look for jobs in japan from the u.s.?

  • @ChrisNolandTV Just giggle @ the way you said it.

  • @bgiv2010 ?
