This is a montage of a gray fox family living beneath the house of Celeste Stanik, who lives nearby an Elkhorn Slough Foundation nature preserve.
Young foxes are called kits. Kits are typically born in the spring and live with mom until they reach sexual maturity in the fall.
Gray foxes are monogamous. In the video the mother come out of the den and greet the father with two youngsters running close behind.
Gray foxes are one of only two canine species in the world which have curved claws that allow them to climb trees. This enhances the gray fox's ability to hunt and escape from danger.
