Friends (including Sandra Bernhard, Alan Cumming, Austin Scarlett, Ally Sheedy and Joe My God) the Ali Forney Center offer words of encouragement and strength to homeless LGBT youth in this video that is part of David Raleigh The Friends Project. The Ali Forney Center is the nation's largest GLBT youth service organization offering support to the thousands of young people reject by their families for being gay, lesbian or transgender. The Friends Project was created by Richard Bahl and David Raleigh to help raise money for this important organization.

I say this becouse im not only one like this,im one of 1000 in my situation.

THIS IS GREAT VIDEO BUT SERBIA CAN DREAM ABOUT IT FOR A LOOOONG TIME FROM NOW.

  • Im so happy my mom would never through me out, even when i should come out to her. She wouldnt be happy about the fact im bisexual but she would axcept it. Im feel so sorry for all that youth who didn't have that kind of parents and I am really hoping that this world will grow to a more tolerant place.

  • LGBT young adults who reported higher levels of family rejection during adolescence were 8.4 times more likely to report having attempted suicide, 5.9 times more likely to report high levels of depression, 3.4 times more likely to use illegal drugs, and 3.4 times more likely to report having engaged in unprotected sexual intercourse, compared with peers from families that reported no or low levels of family rejection. Ryan, C., et al J of Child and Adolescent Psych Nursing, 23: 205–213

  • I'm so glad that these kids have a safe place to turn to for help, love and guidance. Imagine how many kids have been helped and lives that have been saved. We need a place like this in every city.

  • How do you fight bullying? Give them role models by having young LGBT professional go into the schools.
