Sri Lanka Tsunami, Colombo, December 26th 2004

We arrived in Wellawatte, Colombo, from London UK, about 3am so didnt wake till late, heard commotion outside and grabbed camera. The railway is about 4-5 metres above sea level. Didnt realise the significance till later watching TV world news. Gives me shivers because if we had gotten to Sri lanka a few days earlier we would have been down south in the worst hit areas. Hi, yes from 7th floor so couldnt realy get the full impact like from down there. Was a terrible thing.

For some reason, your video struggles to load. That little ring of white dots comes up through the whole thing, even when the red bar has loaded to the end. Probably a Youtube fault, not your video's, but maybe re-uploading it would fix that ???
