I will be blocking anyone from veggieboards on sight, you're not prepared to debate, and banned me from the forums rather than attempt to change my mind. You're arrogant and not worth my time.

My video response to LatumWay on vegitarianism.

  • I come back to this video as a meat eater now (obviously) after a change in attitude towards the idea of eating animals. A little question I have for you though which is commonly thrown at non-veggies from veg*ns, as I'd like to hear from other meat eaters. My question is the one regarding the difference between pets and food: Why/how do you decide between a pet and a food source? I've never actually heard anyone else's thoughts on this.

  • @SebbeSucksBawlz

There isn't a difference. The farmers I know care for their pigs and chickens as much as they do their dogs. Really it's just a matter of which animals are better for food. Pets started out as work animals. Dogs where used to shepard sheep, cats where used to keep mice out of the grain supply. They had a purpose, now they're just there for companionship. Really, the only reason we don't eat pets is we become too emotionally attached, which just proves that we naturally care.

  • I'm also confused by this:

    "A healthy diet includes meat."

"We do not need meat to be healthy."

    Seems that you're contradicting yourself.

  • @climbresponsibly

The diet that we, as omnivores, are evolved to eat in order to maintain our health includes aprox. 30% meat. It is possible to be healthy without meat by making changes to the diet which are unnatural in that we need to eat fruit, veg, pulses, nuts etc. that grow in completely different parts of the world to make up for the lack of meat and for most people will need supliment tablet and will have a weaker musculature for it. This isn't a contradiction.

  • I eat meat, and even I find your arguments deeply flawed. Your "a healthy diet includes meat" claim doesn't hold water, and your opinion on sentience is misinformed at best.

  • @climbresponsibly

Sentience implies three things, self-awareness, consciousness and intelligence. Most animals are barely self aware, unaware of their own mortality and unable to recognise their on reflection. All animals are conscious true. Intelligence however is not an absolute yes or no, it's analogue, therefore if there are levels of intelligence there are levels of sentience. Also don't say "misinformed at best" when you're wrong, it makes you look like an arrogant prick.

  • I fail to see how banning members from VB does anything. Members have absolutely no say in to who gets banned from the VB forum, the rules are made up by the Admin and enforced by Mods. If you're looking to debate, this is a neutral place. ILoveTalk is a place you can discuss this issue as well with VB members. I'm not looking for a debate, just pointing some things out. :) Take Care.

  • Conferencereport has done a few videos on vegetarianism, I suggest watching them if you haven't. Google "naturalistic fallacy" also, it changed my view on things.

  • dude cut ur hair JEEZZZZ!

  • So true I eat bugs too who's gonna stop me LOL well for Vegetarian don't yah think plants should have there rights too, Like animals not fair if yah think like that.

  • @TornadoCreator Good point here. I could never become emotionally attached to a cat, though the thought of eating one would be a bit strange.

  • @sinsofthesea

Thank you for being the one person who seems to have understood my points. I eat an almost vegitarian diet myself as I simply don't like the taste of meat, I eat chicken occationally. But I hold no moral reasons for not eating meat and I have yet to hear a single argument for vegitarianism or veganism that isn't extremely hypocritical, emotional pleading or insanely impractical (Jainist monks).

  • Thank you! Educated, logical, person I want to give you a big meaty hug! Oh god thank you! Veganism is a painful hypocrisy. Animals die everyday so we can survive. Animals die when we thresh the fields for wheat and cotton. Be responsible take credits for your foot print.

  • @jessicadisneyland

I think you'll find it is. If you disagree, explain. Idly stating "It's not logical" doesn't make you right.
