Have bad reception in your hotel room or the far corner of the house? Plug one of these high-power wifi dongles into your computer and double or triple your wifi signal. Not sure if I would recommend sitting beside one of these all day long... practically a mini-microwave. If you need to then invest in a usb extension cable to get it a bit away from right where you are sitting. No drivers req'd for windows 7 home premium. Drivers on mini-cd for windows xp. the only problems with these gadgets is how long they last. These wifi signal increasers will work fine for 6 months and then they short out because they're not built for durability. The constant connecting and disconnecting put stress on the soders and they eventually break leaving you with a useless wifi gadget. good luck if you buy one. If anybody has a product like this and it lasted more than 2 years, plz post here.

@DeDakills Not sure if it would work in an xbox. You would have to see if xbox needs software drivers or not.
USB... It depends if you can get the laptop open (pull screws out of bottom) to try to separate the case. Not sure if the usb plugs are soldered directly to mainboard or if they are a module - in that case you might be able to get a replacement module. Yes, that's the idea. It will give you much better signal strength. Or use it if you don't have a wifi adapter yet.
