De naam van het trio is afgeleid van Les Zazous, dit waren jazzcats die het in Parijs van de jaren 30/40 de swing tot een lifestyle hadden verheven. Ze gingen gekleed in "zoot suit" en droegen "two tone" schoenen.
Uit die tijd stamt ook de muziek van de Hot Club de France, het beroemde zigeunerjazz ensemble met de legendarische Django Reinhardt en violist Stephane Grappelli.
De ervaren musici van het Zazou swing trio voelen zich enorm verbonden met de melodieuze stijl van swing/jazz.
Het repertoire bestaat dan ook hoofdzakelijk uit gypsy jazz liedjes, afgewisseld door vocale jazz-standards, bossa's en wals-musette.

Well, I don't know when your birthday was Bert, but I imagine it was a good one, as you guys have a great time together. Loved the video. The music as always, superb! I think you outdid Ella on Sweet Georgia Brown, didn't think it could be done and I LOVE Ella. Thanks for sharing.
