A Hackintosh? In A Dell GX260?
-
Ive got a Gx240. Everything worked flawlessly except for my audio ( AC97 ) it outputs a high pitch version of what it should be.Did you have the same problem?
-
I've got an SX260. It's like the GX280 but in a compact case but the hard drive and optical drive are laptop parts. It would probably still work as a Hackintosh.

where did you get the drivers from
Pricem05 4 years ago
good question. The drivers were the main reason why i couldn't get it running on the other machines ( gx240,various ibm thinkpads ) it had to be specific to a certain model ( dell gx260 ). no drivers available which is why i eventually reimaged the machine to put something usable.
On this machine - no sound and the vid card wasn't running at the proper speed so couldn't do anything that was graphically intensive including the chess game that came with OS X. ;-)

What are your specs? Ive got a gx260 laying around with 2gb of ram and a basic 80g hd, no vcard... Were drivers easy to get, how much space does osx take up?

apologies for the long delay in replying. you might have been able to try the x-86 OS X port. I did't install any drivers on the side, it was whatever worked stock with the image. graphics rendering was pretty bad and there was no sound. I eventually reimaged it back to a more usable OS ( windows xp )
but this was a fun project.
