  • Thanks, I was actually trying to decide between the Sony HDR-CX500 and the Canon HF-S100... The Sony's low lighting quality may just be the winning factor for me. :)

    Thanks. :D

  • @ZotoBROD Glad I could help :) See the internet can be useful :)

  • Actually my HD video uploaded in 480 not 640. You can see the result on my home page (FunkySaurus Groove). Thanks for any help in advance. I see you're a musician too.

  • @Halunlimited Actually I checked your VID. It does upload. 1st you can only see it at 360. then once upload really completes you can select the 480 resolution. Just click on where is says 360 at bottom right of video window.

And yea I like to dabble in midi music to relax. :)

  • @MrChuckyK Thanks man. It looks like the reason I can't get it up in HD is because my iMovie 08 won't process it, Sony tells me I should get iMovie 09. Yours looks extra sharp cause you got it up in full HD. What program are you or will you be using to edit your Sony HD videos?

  • @Halunlimited I Use Pinnacle Studio 12. (Im sure they have newer versions by now) It lets me get the movie off the sony at max HD, I can then edit and output to DVD, avi, divx, mpg, or upload directly to youtube or yahoo video. Its pretty good but sometimes the software gets flaky.

  • hi does this take the 32gb sd card or a memory stick?

    thanks,

    debi

  • Great test and great result in uploading in 1080. What steps did you take to go from camera to YT? I.e. Where did the file go to be saved (what program?) before you uploaded to YT? Once you have it saved as HD does YT automatically upload at 1080 or do you have to tell YT what resolution to make it? Great camera. I just got the 550 v and it only uploaded at 640 when camera downloaded to iMovie 08 and uploaded from there.

  • @screeech1 I wanted a pocket HD Cam at first. I tried the FLIP utlra and then the Kodak ZI8. I realized then there where no pocket cams on the market that could do good low light. So i bought the larger Sony. It cant fit in my pocket, but it is still a nice compact camcorder

  • Cool Vid, I'm digging the low light performance. Which others have you tried but did not do well as this cam?
