13-year-old Jasim Perales on trombone & 17-year-old Tracy Fitzsimmons on trumpet. They are playing "When the Saints Go Marching In" with Trombone Shorty at the Fillmore in San Francisco on December 30, 2011. Make sure to watch the very end if you want to see Tracy and Trombone Shorty conversing through their horns -- a beautiful moment!

  • @TromboneShortysFan Don't mess with Texas! LOL!

  • @TexasWomanX Thanks a lot! You too!

    P.S. I from Texas too :)

  • @TromboneShortysFan Getting the chance to play onstage with Troy has definitely changed the boys' perspective, and is something they will always remember. As for you, how fortunate to get a trumpet from him for Christmas! Troy is right -- if playing music is something you love, never quit! I wish you the best in life...

  • @TexasWomanX I'm sure you're very proud. I'd be a little intimidated as well but the fact that he did it it was definitely worth it. I love how easily something like this can change a persons entire perspective on things. I'm 15, right in between these guys, and when I met him at his concert this summer he told me to never quit. You have no idea how close I was to being done with band but now I'm trying harder than ever to get good again. Such an amazing person.

  • @TromboneShortysFan Thank you! The young trombonist is my son. He was a little intimidated by the huge crowd, but was so excited to be there. And the other kid, Tracy, has decided he wants to go to college at UNO after having this experience. When my son & I met Troy the last time he played at the Fillmore, he told my son that the next time he was in town, he'd let him play onstage with him - and he did! Plus, he let Tracy join in. Troy is quite a guy - such a generous human being!

  • Wow. This is beautiful. I swear, Troy is one of the best guys out there. I've been literally their biggest fan and he sent me one of his trumpets from his line for Christmas this year. Such a great guy. I'm they'll never forget playing with him :)
