No work of the flesh shall account for anything regarding salvation. This includes baptism. This is not to say Christians don't need to be baptized which shows an outward sign of their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. A real Christian will desire to follow in obedience, and will humble himself to this command with joy!

Here's reality: Luke 5:24-The Son of Man had authority on earth to forgive sins. The thief was saved by Christ while He was still on earth. After His death in Acts 2, the Lord's church is established and we are commanded to repent and be baptized FOR remission of sins.
Praise the LORD for His mercy.
