A few years back, Arizona Senator John McCain hosted Saturday Night Live. In one scene he played the character of then Attorney General John Ashcroft, and joked about wanting to keep Americans in jail for months at a time for no reason. It turns out that the Military Commissions Act, which McCain voted for and was signed recently, would allow the government to do just that

  • Before you support McCain, read "The Dark Side: The Inside Story of How the War on Terror Turned into a War on American Ideals."

  • Ok I watched this entire clip on a "best of snl" dvd, and to be honest it is FUNNY! John McCain is a funny guy. Wouldn't vote for him but he is a scream! Those of you who are trying to tie this to some political "hidden" message...get a sense of HUMOR! This was a parody! Remember anything worth taking seriously can be made fun of! oh yeah, laugh, you'll live longer!

  • That's funny. Good thing that it's not true. BlueState is full of shit.

  • Yes, drowning people until the almost die and then stopping is not torture.

  • This is too good!

  • Hahaha, true. Does anyone remember he was a P.O.W., FOR YEARS! Double duh, he's probably suffered torture not even talked about, jerkie. Yes, pay attention and listen up. Class is starting.

  • lmao@Xenomovies. Yes, really do it! Get on that!

  • dont fall into the lies of keith olbermann and rachel maddow who are scared of mccain. he will never now or in the future ever accept torture and will be the first to go against it. it is ludicrous that you think a person who was torture will allow it. the bill he voted against did nothing to ban torture, it was a useless legislation and just listed a bunch of techniques that are already banned and limited the cia to use the army field manual that meets international standards that mccainsupport

  • nice try. you and keith olbermann are trying to tie that bill to torture. that bill does nothing to stop waterboarding. why dont you talk about detainee act that mccain co sponsored and forced the bush administration to stop using these enhanced techniques. he didnt vote in favor as u say, he voted against a bill that banned 20 techniques and determined what the cia can do. mccain said most of the techniques like waterboarding is already banned and this bill doesnt do anything and is useless

  • I heard the middle east is particularly fond of gay culture. I think you should go to Iran wearing a gay-pride T shirt...no really do it, please...
