Flashback to 1986 when the Gridiron Show cast joined Senators Al Gore and Jim Sasser at the Memphis in May Bar-B-Que Contest to promote our annual political roast. We've been raising money for scholarships to several mid-south area universities since the early 1920's.
Numerous local politicians, including Tennessee Govenor Ned McWherter and Shelby County Mayor Bill Morris, joined in as we performed our salute to Bar-B-Que, live on WHBQ-TV.
The Gridiron Show cast also performs the "Porno Rock Blues" for the future Vice President. The song spoofs Tipper Gore's efforts to establish a music industry rating system.
Political reporter and Gridiron President, Terry Keeter
(1938-2005), was in his element, surrounded by Politics, Bar-B-Que and Beverages.
Meanwhile, Mary Nell Sasser and Gridiron cast member Bettye Chapman encounter a man with a wardrobe malfunction - and they point it out to him.
