@DonSanPedro I agree. Many people and especially travel companies tend to overstate the good and totally ignore the bad. I see no reason not visit these places, but I would not invest in them for the long term. You have really have no rights there, and if bad times come back, you'll quickly find yourself a target and your investments vanish.
We are moving to Costa Rica in February of 2013 to live full time, the home is presently being built. The Canadian government made the decision to give our country to the third world "so let them have it". It will be nice to live in a country where people still say Merry Christmas, and having a government that doesn't appease imported cultures to secure votes. I was born in Canada in 1948, I'm an eye witness to its destruction and soon to be death.
Are their any cheap places in the U.S.A.? That are the same as Costa Rica or cheaper, esp with the housing forecloures I would guess could be cheaper somewhere.
Bad idea to live in nicaragua, that goverment is dangerous, pretty much, live in CR is completely another thing, i can say CR is no cheap but you're going to enjoy it freely. Panamá and Costa Rica are good destinations.
@Normalman50 Have you looked into Alabama or Mississippi? It's cheap, and it sounds like your politics will fit right in.
