Because PP offers more than sexual reproductive services. Pap smears, cancer tests, preg/STD testing, and in a lot of instances, general health check up. That's probably what she's talking about. PP really has become a family health center.

It's absolutely ridiculous to defund PP on the grounds of being anti-choice, especially considering that it's illegal for those federal funds to go towards abortions.

  • The simple fact that women have to fight to get health care services and reproductive justice, in 2011 in a so-called "evolved" country as the US, is very, very sad, and quite franckly, extremely worrying and disturbing. Best of luck to Planned Parenthood in this war against women's rights. Each and every woman should be absolutely outraged at the vicious attacks on women waged by the American government right now.

  • @moolegs159 they got the funding its just an ideology battle for Right Wing!current government[Executive Branch&Democratic representatives]]supports the program and American people overwhelmingly support it too, Right Wing/extreme class of 2011[congress] nothing but ideology against PP and cause Pres.Obama is a scrunchy supporter of women rights, even George Bush[right wing,anti-abortion] funded the PP and even increased funding and he was anti-abortion and that sums it up! good 4 ur NHS

  • i'm astonished that such vital care is seen as unimportant by the american government, makes me realise not to take for granted the nhs and the healthcare that I have access to. Good luck PP I hope you get the funding you deserve!

  • @ywapbuffalo You mean then we will have less teens between 14-16 having children, or having abortions?! Maybe they won't even get STDs because they have a place to go that won't simply preach to them but teach them about responsible safe sex? Oh no. What a catastrophe.

  • @CamillaCalamity it's good to go to a gyno for girls between 13 to 15 even if their not sexually active just to talk about their development and get a health exam, going to pp is like going to a gyno just more affordable

  • Stand with these women America! God Bless them all!

  • Thank you Planned Parenthood. I was devastated to see the House defund title X and Planned Parenthood today. It truly is a war on women. Woe be to them.Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. Let's take them on, Ladies and Gentlemen. On Feb 26, walk with others in the Walk4Choice (google walk4choice for your area).

Write and call your senators and demand they kill this defunding bill.

Then we're going to march on DC.

    WE WILL NOT TURN BACK!

  • Why do little girls need "regular check-ups" from a place like PP? Sorry, I thought that was weird and stuck out at me when the lady said it.

  • In the next election, representives, who are trying to take away women's health rights, will learn the consequences of their actions. They will not be returning to Washington! Friends of mine from all political parties and a variety of religions are saying "Keep government out of women's health care because it's nobody's business!"

  • If MEN got pregnant this would NEVER be an issue!!!

  • great work!
