Miss Haiti Sarodj Bertin Tribute

Tribute to the efforts of Miss Haiti Sarodj Bertin in her participation to the 2010 Miss Universe.
Sarodj emigrated to the Dominican Republic as a child in 1995 with her father Jean Bertin as an exile after the assassination of her mother Mireille Durocher Bertin, a famous lawyer in Haiti.

Sarodj continued her studies in the Dominican Republic. She is a lawyer and studied at the Catholic University Madre y Maestra and Pedro Henríquez Ureña and UNIBE. She speaks English, Spanish, French, Creole and is currently studying Mandarin.

It is to be noted that the beauty queen with a vast academic and perfect figure said that Haiti did not invest in her preparation to attend the competition. She said the costs were covered by her family and highlighted the efforts made by Magali Febles, director of the franchise, "who has made every effort to give Haiti a decent representation on equal terms in Miss Universe.

@GmanZouk How does that square with Barbedos, the Bahamas etc. We need to look in the mirror because no one would invest in a place where kidnapping was a way of life and coup detats where like almost everytime since our independence. Politicians taking money from the our treasury like it was their bank account. I make me sick to hear people passing the book to this day.

Sarodj does not live in Haiti she lives in DR. OK , she does not know anything about Haiti in fact I would rather a 100% white Haitian represented , that actually knows something about Haiti..

@GmanZouk If we didn't have so any greedy president we would be rich by now 1st independent. Mulatoes/Dark/Light same Petion was Mulatto. I guaranteee you if Haitainas united themseves and care for all people we would be unstoppable they know it . We are a strong nation, we need our army back everthing to help our country pushing someone of a lighter complexion will help temporarily but after a few yaers when teh next best thing is here its all over. NO we have to unify so Hiati can be better.

@GmanZouk I thougth bout it what you said it is not really the truth because look DR is diverse they are better than Hiati but still poor So I really don't think people "knowing" all Haitians are NOT dark is really gonna benefit. Beter yet Portorican women men love them lol but PR is still poor. Hiati being Black is a shame so we have to push Mulattoes so we can be better off. ? temporarily but NOT in long run . @GmanZouk If a darker person is from Europe it is not a big deal but whenever alighter person is from a carribean country or Africa it is a big deal because in fact people still believe Blacks are inferior. Sorry to say Sarodj is gorgeous but I really dont see what is so speacial that she couldnt be Haitian African or whatever

@GmanZouk But even if Hiati attract investors the darker women will still be left out look at Puerto rico Dr Columbia Brazil they have so many Black mixed dark peopel where are they? THEY HIDE THEM even thse dark women they might be dark but still look exotic where are they? they dont promote them .I just hope Haiti dont become like these countries hiding the dark people. sadly colorism is alive in Haiti
