i don't care about what lanegan sings . he always makes it sound awesome....

In terms of how Lanegan uses Jesus, I'm going to have to disagree. Its often periphreal in his songs, but he obviously refers to god as a comforting force. And I would say it is more a faith, which is a personal virtue, rather than religion which is a concrete organization.
That specific line can be taken as a reason to have faith.

I look a lot like jesus.

this isn't lanegan crying out for jesus' comfort. this is simply a song about deep inner lonliness. the soulsavers are most definately not a christian band. agnostic at best.

Actually, this song was written by Josh Haden of Spain (who also sang on the first Soulsavers album)

Im quite sure hes crying out to Jesus for comfort in this song, alot of his songs are similar. And FYI this song is by Johnny Cash, and its most definitely christian in and of itself.

I see this song just as a cry of a desperate soul. Whether you believe in god or not, there are the times in life or everyone, when soul is crying for some shelter. I guess, in his songs, "god" or "Jesus" can be just a symbol.
Come on, music is absolutely emotional thing...

Did you completely miss the track "jesus of nothing"? I think you missed something here.

believing in God is as respectable as believing in aliens. both have equil evidence of existence. God has a book, aliens have ancient egyption drawings. I'll just leave it at that. I refuse to believe in something like that, it's irrational.

If you think faith is not "good" that is your "belief"
But I believe in Jesus Christ the lord and savior. Because he does save. He is living, And I "Believe" in Him.
This was my favourite song of the show.
