  • How lovely to see and hear Peter Hawkins, one the first Dalek voices. What a brilliantly menacing and maniacal sound he gave to the Daleks. I'm sad to learn of his recent death. But what a legacy! And what a remarkable coincidence that film footage of one of his early Dalek masterpieces, "Evil of the Daleks," should now show up on this site (see "Evil of the Daleks Redux"). Wonderful!

  • So, its an urban myth that the producers originaly wanted a Geordie accent for the Daleks? "Why aye, tha's a gooin' ta be exterminated, man". Truly frightening, particularly as the Daleks were supposedly going to have 'Kevin Keegan' bubble perms as well.

  • @smithythe2nd how sad that he died the day where the daleks made a huge comeback

  • he died the Day 'Doomsday' Was first Broadcast
