It's all about the position of your left hand. as soon as your finger has left the string it should either stop ringing or make a harmonic note (fret 12), which sounds well.
@Kirameo1 but if you are playing like for example a walking-bass line you don't want that harmonic note either but when it comes to sweeping it is good :D?
Eh, it depends. If you are playing fast, then you want a clean sound in which case you need to mute the strings... there are many methods to achive this. You can palm mute them or put a wristband in the neck for instance (I've never done this btw)
Learn to walk before you learn to run guys. Sweeping is not for beginners, although of course you can try it, but to get it down well you need to build up muscle strength and control so trying this at beginner level may actually be harmful. Not to say i don't like the content of this lesson, I do, but it ain't for beginners!
How do you mute the lower strings when you go to the higher strings :D?
