I just installed a Torqeedo Electric motor for use on Lake Barcroft in Virginia. There is a SLIGHT wining noise and I was worried about that before I bought it. But I was happy in the end. Make sure to buy the extension wires, since the wires were not long enough for me. R= Remote L= Long shaft. Next up, a solar panel!

  • Torqeedo 4.0R (8/9.9hp) on 713 Gillgetter ran about 6 mph when I tested it, how fast on 48v E-Drive and 48v Torqeedo 2.0R

  • The noise is relative. It is a fraction of a Ray, but not as quiet as a Minnkota (but those break and have less power). I show you full speed in this video.

  • This looks like a great motor. Thanks for posting follow-up info as you use it. For example, is the noise ok when at maximum speed? I'd like to use one on my Precision 21 sailboat (1800 lbs), but as I need to go for 4 miles in a bay to reach the lake, it may be pushing it... Also considering I need to motor the same 4 miles on the way back.
