  • I had 3 root canals 25 years ago, and 1 recently. I don't get vaccine's and I've only been sick 3 times in my life. So I guess it hasnt affected my immune system.

  • I've had quite a few root canals done even though my teeth didn't hurt that much.

The dentist just asked if this teeth hurts...i said no and they still did a root canal :(

  • @yootubeinmybutt a friend of mine got shot 5 times and didn't die,so i guess getting shot 5 times doesn't kill you...

you do realize that a personal experience doesn't mean anything in medicine?studies and statistics with thousands of people are done for a reason

  • @mostmusicisbad the root canal therapy is to clean and sterilize the canal space, and fill it with a material so the canal space will not allow any more bacterial invasion. two main points to a root canal therapy: 1. clean the canal space, 2. fill it well.

The tooth is not "alive" as it has no more nerve or blood supply. But the majority of tooth is hard structure, allowing it to continue to chew.

RC is to let you hold on to tooth for as long as possible, but not guaranteed to outlast you.

  • Hi there, I just had the first procedure done in the rroot canal. So what they did is use that metal piece to clean the nerve or infact maybe killed the nerve as well as having temporary fillling, however i stil feel the pain on that tooth and i dont have the other appointment till 4 more days. Is this normal ( can some one with experience or knows what they saying comment on this please) It really does hurt.

  • F**king teeth eating bacteria.

  • so if i get a sudden sting that hurts like hell when i chew on the area i do need a root canal?

  • Teeth are living organs, not inert, and they can't be sterilised. Therefore root canal makes no sense - it's like keeping a dead toe on your foot.

  • My nerves have been damaged for over 3 years now. I can't chew on my left side because it is so sensative. All my food gets stuck in my tooth as well. I need free dental!

  • I'm having 2 root canals finished in 2 days time, i've already had the drilling done - didn't feel a thing. easy - no more tooth ache.

  • I have to get one done tomorrow. :( not looking forward to that drill/ :(

  • A root canal can be confirmed from an xray......
