I tend to agree with your assessment.
There is definitely a need for improvement, but Greenpeace isn't really helping as far as I can see.
For instance, on the issue of brominated flame retardants, there have been various scientific studies, including one by the EU, that either find that the risk is insignificant or inconclusive.
It does not help Greenpeace's credibility one iota to claim otherwise.

Nintendo, not Apple, was rated last in a recent Greenpeace report.
HOWEVER, this may be due to the fact that Nintendo doesn't disclose its information with anyone they aren't involved with instead of there being actual environmental hazards with their products.
Nintendo is a fairly secretive corporation so they likely may politely told Greenpeace to take a hike when they inquired for information concerning their manufacturing and recycling processes.
You can't totally rely on the report, IMO.

Greenpiss! Not very well informed!

cadmium, beryllium, lead, and mercury are all elements, what are you gonna do to get rid of them?

Greenpeace is an over-exerting menace to the norm. Anyone who advocates personal violence over unrelated industry and practice because they think they are right should be shot into space like the incredible Hulk.

Apple has been named the winner of the California Waste Reduction Award in every year since 1995. Apple was recently named a "Forward Green Leader" by the Sierra Club and its investment adviser, Forward Management.
Lastly, I encourage you head on over, partner, and check out Ars Technica's review of the award Apple just won from EPA.
I *agree* that industrial processes are horrible toxic. Singling out one company leaves me wondering who signs your paycheques, however.

Is this supposed to be some parody where they're getting along?
-
did you check out the other link?

Yes I did go to that web site, I didn't find any substantiated facts, only what Greenpeace said is happening. And the only quote I found on that web site was from Steve Jobs, which may or may not of have been taken out of context.
Just another question, why do all the pictures of kids at that site look like the computers/electronics were photoshopped in?
