I am in the U.S. army and have used our bivy a lot I like it but have never use the one the brits do. what is the diff?

Goretex isn't waterproof, Leaves carry bugs and spiders especially in Australia, the Funnel Web Spider LOVES leaves, and it looks like you are planning on sleeping right on the ground, a very bad idea for colder climates.

i spent 4 day sleeping in 34 degree weather ,it didnt stop raining for the whole time because of a bivy sack i got off ebay , i was dry every night and slept well even though there was water everywhere .

we had to build a platform to get the fire off the ground , and yes WE started and kept the fire going in a pouring rain .

I'm not trying to come off as offensive.. This is rediculus. Why pay someone to give you something that they say works great? As they teach you in survival school, you don't need that shit. I suggest not wasting the 40-50 dollars, be a man and don't use this stupid shit.
