From the top of an old growth tree in the middle of the forest, conservationist Miranda Gibson took these photos of a beautiful sunrise on Jan 11 2012. Miranda has been in the tree for over four weeks now and has vowed to remain there until the area of forest is protected by a conservation agreement that was promised by the Prime Minister Julia Gillard back in August 2012. From the tree tops Miranda is updating a daily blog - www.observertree.org
Keep up the good work. Tasmania is an amazing place and no one wants to see rows and rows of plantation trees and sickness associated with poor forestry practices not to mention the persecution to wildlife which is banned from plantations.
