  • @Oldiesmann You know, I have liked this song since I was a kid and never knew the song was based on that Mozart piece. Thanks for sharing!

  • Surprenant, mais très réussi!

  • I guess like so many others here ... used to own the 45 back in 1964 ... lost it somewhere along the line. Loved W Square, but this one started to haunt me, never forgot, hoped I could buy it again.

    Now here it is! Thanks!!!

And yes ... it was only later did I hear it played "straight" as Mozart on the piano -- also a great tune -- but I kept hoping to hear a trumpet and a clarinet taking off in the next room :-)

  • Gee, just went into the living room and, lo! and behold!!! My 45 looks just the same as the one in the video!!!!! Imagine that! You can't guess how many folks have told me to throw those old 45's away, they're just junk!!!!!! Not important!!!

  • This is TOO funny - I looked this up because of "Washington Square" and thought of when my father played this on a diner countertop jukebox but could not remember the tune at all: I just listened to it now 45 years later and recognized the opening bars as "Turkish Rondo".

I'm glad to see my musical education over the past four decades was not entirely for naught.

Might have given a nod to Wolfgang Amadeus somewhere on the label though.

  • OMG! Turkish March!XD I <3 this.:P Village Stompers were great.:)

  • hehe degisikkk :)

  • It took me a while to realize that this was Mozart、 way after I came to the US to go to a conservatory. I grew up listening to this in Japan. Until now, I even didn't know the English title! 40年前の日本で、此れ聴いて育ちました。英語の原題を知ったのは今が初めてです。
