AJE Exclusive: Pakistan Taliban leader plays waiting game

Al Jazeera has managed to track down one of the leaders of the Pakistani Taliban hiding in Afghanistan's Hindu Kush mountains.

Faqir Mohammad told Al Jazeera that his men are waiting to see what the Pakistani government will do before agreeing to peace talks.

The conversation though, seems to confirm that the group has splintered and no longer has a unified chain of command.

Al Jazeera's Kamal Hyder has this exclusive report.

@landlogger Because people sympathize with them especially with the evil drone attacks, that have been killing innocent people. America thinks its ok to go do what they want with other countries, but lets say another country launched drone attacks on the US they would launch a full scale war. @forgottenmemories63 o.k fair point, I didn't look at the whole thing in context, I can understand now - what a cruel thing to say about Americans. There is good in every nation even if they are at war with us, I could never wish death on some1 esp. a whole nation. Yes Americans have contributed a great deal. One has to give credit where it is due, and our civilisation is no longer existent let alone contributing nowadays. But I do believe Islam will return.

@wakbangbang What the Islamic Scholars did during the Golden Age was indirectly responsible of a New Age of thinking in Europe which led to Renaissance,. I never said I denied their Contribution to Humanity.

I was simply replying to the person who said he wanted to see all "Americans dead" and explaining him how U.S discovered many things of the Modern Century because face it, The Golden Age of Islam lasted till 1100 AD, After that there was no contribution from Islamic Nations.
