This film is comprised primarily of clips from a video oral history with John H. Pinkard, Jr., one of the founders of the FotoCraft Camera Club. The group was founded in 1937, and met at the Anthony Bowen YMCA in Washington, DC.
The film also features brief commentary from Thomas C. Battle, PhD., retired Director of Howard University's Moorland-Springarn Collection. Dr. Battle recalls acquiring images from members of FotoCraft for Howard University during his tenure.
Pinkard discusses the organization's founding, the early years of the Anthony Bowen YMCA, his work as a physicist for the Federal Government, club life and organization, and photography styles and techniques.
